Located in the Province of Siena,Colle di Val d’Elsa is a pretty medieval town that is not far from the historic via Francigena and was, therefore, a pit-stop for travellers and pilgrims for centuries. Like many cities in Tuscany, it was once a centre of artistic and artisanal production but, unlike most of its neighbours, remains that way to this day. It continues to be the Italian capital of crystal and, as such, has been nicknamed the “Bohemia of Italy.” In fact, Colle di Val d’Elsa accounts for 95% of all Italian crystal glass production and 14% of the global production of crystal, which is an incredible feat.

Due to this scale and the economic importance of the craft in the town, it remains central to life for locals, with the first Sunday of each month playing host to a crystal market in town and open-air demonstrations of glass-making (from around 3pm) in the historical centre of the city on Via della Misericordia. 5. Bolgheri

Bolgheri is a wine area located in the Province of Livorno that has become internationally known since 1974, when, in an event organised by Decanter, a 6-year-old Sassicaia won over an assortment of Bordeaux wines.

San Gimignano is a small, medieval hill town in Siena Tuscany province of north-central Italy. The town is famous for white wine and tall medieval towers, which may be seen from several miles outside the town.

It was founded in the 3rd century BC by the Etruscans. It was the stopping point for Catholic pilgrims on their way to Rome and Vatican during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance period.

The patrician families of the town built 72 towers-houses as symbols of their wealth and power. Only 14 of these towers have survived the test of time.

Wonderful place! Wonderful, peaceful location! Danielle was an amazing hostess providing details of things to do in the area, restaurants to eat at, etc. The facility was spotless. We took beautful morning walks done the lane past a church that there are records of around 900AD. We were able to go inside the church as well. We Highly recommend.

Unser Urlaub im Agriturismo La Pieve war einfach perfekt. Das Anwesen ist herrlich ruhig gelegen, inmitten eines Olivenhains.
Wir haben die Suite del Duca mit 2 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern 14 Tage bewohnt. Das geräumige Appartment ist sehr geschmackvoll und komfortabel eingerichtet. Die Küche ist zwar bestens ausgestattet, wir haben sie aber nicht genutzt, sondern uns jeden Morgen auf unserer Terrasse mit einem ausgezeichneten Frühstück - inklusive selbst gebackenem Brot und Kuchen - verwöhnen lassen. Auf Wunsch wurde auch abends für uns gekocht und auf unserer Terrasse serviert. Regionale Spezialitäten, kreativ und modern. Einfach köstlich. Die hilfsbereiten Eigentümer und ihr sehr nettes Team sorgen auf angenehm zurückhaltende Weise, dass die Gäste sich rundherum wohlfühlen und entspannen können. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen.

Our holiday at Agriturismo La Pieve was just perfect. The property is in a quiet location, surrounded by an olive grove.
We have inhabited the Suite del Duca with 2 adults and 2 children for 14 days. The spacious apartment is very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well equipped, but we did not use it, as every morning we let us pampered on our terrace with an excellent breakfast - including homemade bread and cake. On request we had also cooked for us in the evening and served on our terrace. Regional specialities, creative and modern. Simply delicious. The helpful owners and their very nice team make sure in a pleasantly restrained way, that the guests feel comfortable and relax. We will definitely come back.
