Wir waren eine Woche im Appartement "Ulignano 1". Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön, in sehr gutem Zustand und bietet alles was man als Familie für einen Urlaub braucht. Wer gerne etwas außerhalb ist, die ländliche Ruhe genießen möchte, sollte hier bei Gelegenheit einkehren. Im Sommer mit Pool sicherlich noch schöner.
Insgesamt eine echte Empfehlung! Die Gastfamilie ist sehr sehr freundlich, zudem kann man leckeren Wein und ausgezeichnetes Olivenöl dort kaufen.
PS: Bei der Anfahrt muss man sich auf 3-4km geschotterte, also unbefestigte Straße einstellen. Also nicht erschrecken. Dafür wird man mit einer genialen Lage und Aussicht belohnt!

Wir haben unseren einwöchigen Aufenthalt in Ulignano sehr genossen. Die Wohnung geht über EG und 1. Stock und ist relativ geräumig. Highlight ist der super gepflegte Pool mit Liegestühlen und Sonnenschirmen außen herum. Von hier aus hat man einen tollen Blick auf Volterra auf einem gegenüber liegenden Hügel. Nach einem Städtebesuch in Volterra, San Gimignano (30 min), Pisa, Siena (1 h) bei über 30°C gibt es nichts Schöneres, als am schönen Pool zu relaxen :-)

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] We highly enjoyed our week long stay in Ulignano. The apartment is on ground floor and 1st floor and is quite spacious. The highlight is the perfectly-kept pool with sun loungers and umbrellas all around. From here you have a great view of Volterra and over an opposite hill. After a visit to cities like Volterra, San Gimignano (30 minutes away), Pisa, Siena (1 hour away) at 30°C, there is nothing better than to relax by the lovely pool :-)

Une propriété nichée au milieu des collines toscanes, au calme, vue grandiose, à égale distance de Pise,Florence et Sienne, Volterra village le plus proche avec tous commerces à environ 20 mn, dont la moitié sur chemin carrossable obligeant à rouler doucement mais la propriété vaut ce petit effort. A noter la grande gentillesse de Mme LOTTINI,ils sont venus nous chercher malgrè notre arrivée tardive à Volterra. Attention, il existe deux Ulignano et il faut aller à celui de la province de Pise.
A noter l'excellente huile d'olive produite par le domaine. Vin blanc et rouge également. Très belle piscine entretenue tous les jours. Seul bémol les moustiques, ne pas oublier la panoplie anti moustiques. Séjour à conseiller vivement.

Our third visit to this area in ten years and a joy to return. Friends had stayed in Ulignano 1 six years ago so we knew the area and more or less what to expect. The house is simply furnished and the beds very comfortable. The family were very welcoming and gave us olive oil, wine and produce from their vegetable patch. The washing machine in the underground garage broke down and it was replaced within 2 days. The pool was spotless and cleaned every night. This house is perfect as a base for touring the area or lazing by the pool. Borgo Della Speranza is a very welcome addition just five mins walk up the hill where they have a restaurant and also do takeaway so saves a trip into Volterra if you want to eat out. Fabulous food and lovely people. There were 3 couples in our party so one couple had to sleep on the open mezzanine area upstairs which is fine if you all know each other well! Weather was really hot 30-38 degrees so welcome additions would be ceiling fans upstairs. Mosquitos were in abundance which we expected but screens on the shower room and toilet would have allowed us some additional welcome air in the evenings. When all going out together, the boys showered at the pool! The biggest issue we experienced was the tiny fridge with only a small top freezer box with a broken door. Trying to keep food (and drinks) cool was an impossibility. A half and half fridge freezer would have been a godsend. Saying all this, we would definitely book again in the future.

Very clean, nicely decorated rustical villa. The owner was very helpful and kind, cleaned the pool every day even though we didn't use it at all. Only the sofa would need some updating, but the kitchen is functional, outside area very nice. Lots of animals and free space which was great for the kids. The location is excellent - close to all the touristic sites but isolated from all the city noise.

Zeer mooie, rustige, zeer afgelegen omgeving. Vakantiewoning helemaal in orde en groot zwembad ter beschikking.
Voor GPS: geef 'localitata Ulignano' in, want Ulignano op zich bestaat ook (maar dit ligt net naast San Gimignano en is wel nog een 15-tal kms van de vakantiewoning!!!). Anders is het bijna niet te vinden, ongeasfalteerde toegangswegen!!
Voor een rustige vakantie, een aanrader.

For the GPS: enter "localitata Ulignano" because there is also an Ulignano (though this is just next to San Gimignano and still some 15 km from the apartment !!!). Otherwise it is hard to find, unpaved roads!
For a quiet holiday, highly recommended.
