Used once like refuge of animals this hay loft was finely restored according to the original rural style. Located on a hill few kilometers from Lucca, its position allows to see an excellent view on the surrounding valley. Surrounded by a terrace of olive trees with a wood of acacia trees and maritime pines in the back-ground.
Recommended to those looking for a moment of relax, peace, tranquillity and complete privacy.
The owners live in this house but during the summer they move to another property and rent Leonardo to guests.

China Massagli (pronounced KEE-nah Mah-SAH-lee) is a unique Tuscan liquor that was first created in the nineteenth century by a one doctor Massagli, who was the owner of a pharmacy in Piazza San Michele in Lucca. Originally sold as a medicinal beverage during the Malaria epidemic of the 19th century in the city, it is now a local tipple that is a must-try for any foodie that has found a vacation rental in Lucca and is exploring the gastronomy of the city.

One of the main ingredients of the drink, from which it partially gets its name, is China Ginebona Officinalis. Also known as Jesuit's bark, the plant contains quinine, an ingredient used to fight fever and malaria, which is still sold in pharmacies to this day.

Fantastic villa in a beautiful location 20 mins drive from a beautiful city. Our teenage boys loved the pool area so much they hardly budged. Invaluable mosquito screens meant windows could be kept open and the villa remained cool from the regular mountain breezes. Spacious & comfortable and v helpful owner. John M, York, N Yorkshire.
