This large and very cosy two-family house is located in Viareggio, just 1.5 km from the city centre. It boasts an excellent location that is both central and quiet, with the edge of the forest only 200 m away. The house is also within 1 km of the sea and the beach. Guests can enjoy a private courtyard with garden furniture, and heating is available from 01.11. to 15.04.. Linen changes and towel changes are available for an additional fee, and room cleaning can be requested. Public parking is available on the road.

The kitchen is also quite spacious and equipped with modern amenities such as 4 hot plates, oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave, freezer, and an electric coffee machine. There is also a dining table with an exit to the patio. The house also features a separate WC and gas heating, available only from 01.11. to 15.04.

The upper floor of the vacation home consists of two double bedrooms, each with air conditioning and an exit to the balcony. One of the bedrooms has an additional single bed. Close to the fortressed town of Camaiore in the Versilia area of Tuscany is the partially restored castle of Montemagno.

It was built in the middle ages beside a village of the same name. It overlooked a section of the pilgrim road to Rome, the Via Francigena, running through Lucca into the Versilia plains.

Estimations have the castle dating as far back as 1099 and the private owner of the castle today had it wonderfully restored to include the original walls and the façade of the adjacent San Bartolomeo church.

Venice is famous for her large-scale, colourful, indulgent carnival celebrations but did you know that Tuscany has another hot-spot for a serious party every February? The Carnevale di Viareggio is, in fact, actually one of the most renowned carnival celebrations in both Italy and Europe, even if it is less familiar to some. So, if you are looking to enjoy a villa in Tuscany and a great party then you should book your stay in a vacation rental in Viareggio for this February!

The very first carnival event in the city was held in 1873 and was organised by a group of middle class men who created a parade of floats that were decorated with flowers. However, this then became a protest rather than a celebration, when citizens who were frustrated with rates of taxation donned masks to conceal their identities and made their opinions known. Fun once again took over from political action and the parade became an annual fixture in town, alongside other events as part of a carnival festival. While there were some years in which the carnival did not take place – namely throughout both world wars – the Carnevale di Viareggio became a key part of the town’s annual calendar and only grew and grew throughout the second half of the 20th century onwards. Today, it is a major draw to this gorgeous city on the Tuscan Coast and a great reason to book a holiday rental in Viareggio during the month of February.
