There are two open double bedrooms, each with air conditioning. Another living/dining room with a shower/bidet/toilet and satellite TV is also present. Two more double bedrooms, each with air conditioning, can be found on this level. A large living/dining room with a shower/bidet/toilet, satellite TV, and access to the garden completes the ground floor. The upper floor features a spacious living/dining room with an open-hearth fireplace and satellite TV, opening out to a terrace. Two double bedrooms with shower/bidet/toilet and air conditioning are located on this level, along with four additional double bedrooms, each equipped with air conditioning. A kitchenette with four hot plates, an oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave, and freezer is also available on the upper floor, as well as a separate bath/bidet/toilet and shower/bidet/toilet.

Today a review on a beautiful house that our staff knows very well. La Poggetta is situated just on the outskirts of Cavriglia, a small town on the edge of the Chianti wine area. From here you can walk to town with all sort of shops and restaurants and that is perfect.

The house has a very nice covered terrace next to the big barbecue, there is a private swimming pool and a private tennis court and further a huge lawn with many trees and flowers. Beautiful roses are growing everywhere.... the guests can pick the fresh vegetables from the kitchen garden..... it's a Tuscan paradise !

The proud owners Alessandra and Alfiero do not speak English but they are very welcoming and are there for you in case you need anything.

There is a huge selection of intriguing mine sites to visit in Tuscany where tourists can learn all about what was once a thriving industry here. Anyone with a keen interest in history and geography would love a visit to mining museums and accompanying tours to sites in the Mount Amiata district, Valdicastello and Cavriglia to name but a few.

There is a wide range of holiday villas in Pietrasanta in the valdicastello area to choose from if visitors would like to spend some or all of their holiday here. A tour around these underground worlds gives tourists an absorbing insight into what life was like for miners during the boom period when metals like iron, silver, lead and copper were in massive demand.

If you’re going to be in Tuscany for a week and you have a passion for cooking, I strongly suggest you book a one day cooking class. You’ll be amazed at how much you can learn in a day from a professional chef. If you’re travelling with a group, a cooking class can be a great group participation event.

In the coming weeks we'll highlight some cooking class locations throughout Tuscany. Today I'd like to introduce the cooking classes held at Ristorante Malborghetto located in Gaiole in Chianti. The lessons are held at the restaurant in the morning before lunch service starts. The meals you cook are based on the wishes of the participants, each meal includes four courses, an appetizer, homemade pasta, main course and dessert. The participants share the food they cook along with a selected wine for each course.

Castello di Brolio is a famous and beautiful Tuscan castle in the southern Chianti countryside, located on top of an isolated hill a few kilometers from Gaiole. It is famous for its stunning architecture, grounds and views but is also supposedly home to several ghosts and is where one of the most famous wines in the region was born.

A visit to the castle provides a whole day out as there is plenty of cultural and artistic gems and historic insights to be discovered but there is also still a functioning vineyard on the property where you can take tours and even sample a little of the lauded local tipple.
