The interiors are a testament to authentic Tuscan craftsmanship, featuring exposed stone walls, original ceiling beams, terracotta tiles, and floors in local stone, all complemented by carefully selected antique furniture that lends each room a distinctive sense of character and timeless elegance. Within the estate, guests will also discover a former armoury converted into a chapel, complete with restored 14th-century frescoes, and a second tower now serving as a residential dwelling. The property benefits from a dedicated parking area located at the rear of the main house, accessible via an internal drive lined with oleanders. High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity is available throughout, ensuring that guests remain connected during their stay. The expansive grounds, extending across approximately 40 hectares, include a fully fenced park of around one hectare, offering generous outdoor space and a yard environment that invites relaxation and exploration in equal measure.

Covering approximately one fenced hectare within the broader 40-hectare estate, the grounds alternate between manicured lawns, winding paths, and paved areas adorned with flowering borders, medicinal plants, tall trees, and fruit trees. A 1.5-hectare olive grove adds to the pastoral character of the estate, while a shady pinewood and a garden planted with olive trees, hydrangeas, hibiscus, and jasmine create a serene central area between the buildings. A pergola shelters a long outdoor dining table surrounded by comfortable seating, making it an ideal setting for alfresco meals in any season. Please be aware that photographs of the gardens were taken in spring, and the appearance of flowering plants and lawn colours may vary at the time of your arrival. The swimming pool is situated in a private, fenced area of the property, just a few metres from the buildings and accessible through a child-safe gate, surrounded by dense woodland vegetation that ensures complete privacy. The non-heated pool is rectangular in shape, measuring 7 by 15 metres, with a depth ranging from 1.20 to 2 metres. It is lined with PVC, finished with a travertine edge, and purified using a salt-based system. The sunbathing area surrounding the pool is equipped with sunbeds, chairs, tables, a cold-water shower, and outdoor lighting. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

Unit Layout

Il Castellare accommodates a maximum of 14 guests across 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, distributed among the main house and 2 independent annexes, all set within a total area of approximately 360 square metres. The main house is arranged over 3 internally connected floors. The ground floor features an entrance hall with access to the staircase leading to the upper levels, an open-plan living room with a sitting area and dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen with an adjoining pantry. On the first floor, 2 double bedrooms are served by a bathroom with shower. Between the first and second floors, a mezzanine level houses a small guest bathroom. The second floor offers a sitting room, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a further bathroom with shower. Annex 1 is a self-contained unit spread over 2 floors connected by an internal staircase. The ground floor comprises a sitting room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a guest bathroom. The first floor features a sitting room, 2 double bedrooms, one of which is fitted with a bed measuring 1.40 metres in width, a bathroom with bathtub, and a twin bedroom with joinable beds and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Annex 2 provides a living area with sofas and a television, with direct access to the pool area, and includes a bathroom with shower. Please note that the existing fireplaces throughout the property are not available for use.

The property is covered by the Zer0Dep Guarantee, meaning guests are not required to pay a security deposit either on balance or upon arrival. This guarantee includes EuropAssistance coverage in the event of accidental damage to the property during the stay, up to a maximum of 1,500 euros and subject to the limitations provided by the policy. Utilities including electricity, water, and gas for cooking use are included in the rental rate. Guests travelling with pets should be aware that a mandatory extra cleaning fee applies per animal per week or part thereof. Tourism tax may apply where required by local regulations.
