Set at 600 m. above sea level on the wooded slopes of the hills on the eastern edge of the Valdichiana where Tuscany meets Umbria is the tiny hamlet of S. Agata. As well as the ancient church from which it takes its name there is the owner’s house and six apartments
in the buildings. This tiny hamlet reachable by an unmade road (approx. 4 km.) dating from the second half of the 18 th Century has been carefully and patiently restored. The tiny modest houses in which local mountain folk lived their hardworking lives have been modernized and now form a complex where vacationers can discover the fascination
of a life amidst history, nature and tradition. Each apartment is comfortable furnished and outside has its own area and garden both equipped with table and chairs. The farm has a 6x12m pool (depth 1,60m), garden, children’s play area, barbecue, wood burning oven and, for the exclusive use of guests, a small restaurant serving local dishes on request. We stayed at Agriturismo S.Agata for one week. We had Walter app, wich was nice, but with his minuses also. We had dinner night with all the tourists and family, they cooked pizza for us. We even could watch how the pizza was made. What we didn't like at all was that we payed for final cleaning but it wasn't clean from the biggining. There was a lot of dust and spider webs. The language is also a problem. There is only one girl who speaks english but we couldn't find her everytime we needed so we had to make it on our own.
They have a pool but we couldn't enjoy it because of the bees and other flying insects.
The villa it's placed on the top of a hill, with an unmade road, so the access it's not the easiest.
Otherwise, the landscape it's beautiful and the price it's fair enough.

Wir waren zu dritt für 2 Wochen in dieser Unterkunft, speziell im Haus "Michele" (vermutlich nach dem ältesten Sohn der Gastgeberfamilie benannt). Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, auch wenn die Anfahrt recht anspruchsvoll ist. Ich empfehle einen Wagen mit Automatikgetriebe, es sei denn man ist gut im Anfahren auf Bergen.
Die Familie Bernardini ist eine sehr nette Familie. Sie haben vier reizende Kinder. Diese spielten auch mit unserer Tochter bzw. mit uns. Das gemeinsame Spielen aller Kinder aus allen angereisten Nationen war sehr schön. Der Pool ist groß und ausreichend für alle. Man kann dort trotz vorhandener Kinder (wem so etwas stören sollte) sehr ruhige Tage verbringen.
Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön.
Vielen Dank auch noch einmal an Roberta Bernardini für die vielen gemeinsamen Essen aller Gäste.
Die Unterkunft können wir 300-%ig weiterempfehlen.

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] The three of us stayed for 2 weeks at this property, in the unit called Michele (presumably named after the oldest son of the host family). We have thoroughly enjoyed it, even if the road to get there is quite challenging. I recommend a car with automatic transmission, unless you are good at pulling away on hills.
The Bernardini family is a very nice family. They have four lovely children. They played with our daughter. The children off all nations that played together was very nice. The pool is large enough for everybody. You can spend some calm days there despite the presence of children (for those who should be disturbed by such a thing). The accommodation is very nice. Many thanks again to Roberta Bernardini for the dinner we had together with all guests.
We can 300 % recommend this accommodation. We were there in August 2011.

Die Lage von S.Agata ist etwas abgeschieden, aber dafür wunderschön mit Blick auf die Hügel des Chiana-Tals. Die Anlage, Wohnung und Pool sind hübsch gestaltet und gut gepflegt. Wer seine Ruhe haben und entspannen möchte, ist hier genau richtig.
