There are more towns in Tuscany than most of us will ever hear about, much less visit. When you are planning your trip to Tuscany its best to plan ahead for where you want to go; what do you definitely want to see? Some people make sure to visit San Gimignano, the small town with the big towers. Some people have to see Florence, the big city of Tuscany with plenty of history, architecture and beauty to keep you busy during your stay. Then there are the wine regions that the wine lovers are sure to visit and lovers of "Under the Tuscan Sun" may want to stay or at least make a stop in Cortona. The list goes on and on...

Giorgio Vasari was born in Arezzo, Tuscany in July 1511. He grew up with a keen interest in the arts and had quite a talent for painting, writing, architectural design and history research. In 1529 he travelled to Rome where he studied the masters of the Renaissance.

Those wishing to stay and explore the areas where Vasari was born and lived in later life can choose from a lovely range of vacation rentals in Arezzo or last minute holiday deals in Florence.

Vasari was inspired by the sheer wealth of talent that was harvested and blossomed during the Age of Enlightenment and worked as a painter with good success for quite some time. But he began to take an even greater interest in designing buildings and so began his next career!

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at the village of Stefano. Very impressive views on the Tuscany surroundings and Stefano was a great host even cooking us his spaghetti on the first night. Pool and tennis coort are great fun. House is cosy and good for two people. Bed was good and certainly not too hard

Host Stefano really wonderful - his hospitality was fabulous, including two home cooked dinners during our stay. The grounds and particularly the pool were really beautiful with lovely views. The accommodation was reasonable, however, the bedding, including sheets and mattress as well as towels was really poor. The kitchen facilities were OK, but no coffee machine nor microwave. Outside furniture very tired as well. Main airconditioning unit wasn't working and bedroom one needed repair when we arrived. Care and attention to facilities would make a big difference as location and host amazing.

The house is beautiful and the views were amazing. The owner is very friendly and made life there very comfortable. The directions are a little poor to get there, so try to get the actual address for your GPS before venturing up the hill.
