Villa Mugello is a large private 8-bedroom villa dating back to year 1500 and situated in the Mugello area, approx. 30 km north of Florence. This vacation rental, surrounded by cultivated fields and chestnut woods, comprises a main villa with an adjoining apartment (accessible from the outside). An additional unit is occasionally occupied by the property owners do not share with their guests the use of the garden or of the pool. The villa interiors are simple and welcoming.
A short distance away there is a renowned shopping mall with some of the best Italian brands. The Mugello racetrack is circa 8 km away and Lake Bilancino with water sport facilities is approx. 20 km away.
The town of Borgo San Lorenzo with railway station (trains to Florence) is 5 km away.
The access to the property is via an unpaved road (900 m).

6. Al Seminario

Al Seminario is a lovely stone farmhouse that is situated in a private and beautiful position in the hills between Lucca and the coast. The house has been furnished in a charming and cosy way but the outdoor spaces are equally appealing. La Marzocco is a factory that makes some of the best coffee machines in the whole world. It opened in 1927 and was originally located in Pian di San Bartolo in Florence but moved to Mugello a few years ago.

Since then, it has put Mugello on the map for serious coffee lovers around the world and become a place that attracts foodies from all over the globe.

If you want to learn all about this factory and the coffee machines it makes, just find a luxury villa in Barberino di Mugello and take a guided tour of the factory during your visit.

In 1939 Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi, the founders of the company, developed and patented the first coffee machine with a horizontal boiler, that is now a standard and, today, these innovators and La Marzocco are synonymous with coffee machines that are 100% Italian made, made by highly skilled contemporary artisans and which are super specialized in making the best possible Italian espresso.

The villa is in a beautiful spot overlooking the valley below. The villa was clean and the pool was amazing. The grounds are huge with several seating areas and outdoor cooking possibility. The only negative was the appliances in the kitchen (especially the fridge and dishwasher) that could be updated. They did work but the fridge was missing shelves and the dishwasher left some dishes dirty. For the price the villa is a great find and the owner was super helpful and responsive.
