La Selva degli Ulivi is a small stone house a few steps from the main house where the family owners live. You will find it in a hilly and panoramic position and surrounded by silver olive trees. The house is perfect for a couple, for a romantic holiday in the Tuscan countryside, among enchanting hills and ancient, small villages.
La Selva degli Ulivi is also the ideal starting point to visit the wonders of Tuscany and central Italy, given the proximity of the main roads, which make it easy to travel to cities and sites to visit. For shopping enthusiasts, there is also a large and well-stocked outlet, the Valdichiana Village, just a few kilometres away.
All around the house there is a large furnished green area with a panoramic view of the surrounding hills. The wooden porch, paved and decorated with flower pots, is equipped with table, chairs, deckchairs and barbecue, here you can enjoy your evenings outdoors and in the company of a good glass of wine.
From here you also have access to the lovely round swimming pool with a diameter of 4 metres and a depth of 1.10 metres, which you will have exclusive use of. Moreover, in the garden and in the porch you can use the Wi-Fi internet access.
The house is small but really comfortable, it has a kitchenette equipped with everything you might need, a bathroom with shower, a large bedroom and the possibility in the loft of the living room, to accommodate a child up to 12 years in the sofa bed. A simple, comfortable and very pleasant furnishing, with warm colours, stylish furniture and a very particular choice of finishing touches by the owners, crowns everything, making the Selva degli Ulivi an extremely welcoming place.
At your arrival you will find a welcome basket with the necessary for breakfast.

And we're back with another Villa Spotlight!

This time we're taking a trip to Foiano Della Chiana in the Arezzo countryside to a spectacular Villa that sleeps up to 15 people in 8 bedrooms!

Villa Laura has beautiful panoramic views and very stylish architecture and spacious gardens with its own private pool for guest use.

The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and there is plenty of counter space in the kitchen for cooking.

We think that one of the best thing about this villa is the room with the snooker table. It is perfect for relaxing and having fun in with friends and family. There is even a chess set in the corner!

Carnival is an event celebrated all over the world that sees people let loose before going into Lent, in anticipation of Easter. These colourful, joyous and, often, wild, events are famous, particularly New Orleans' Mardi Gras, Rio's Carnival, and Venice's Carnevale. However, while Tuscany may not be as famous for this event, her iterations are many and wonderful. In the late 13th century in the town of Sinalunga, Tuscany…an outlaw called Ghino di Tacco was born! He began life as a robber along with his father and brother, gaining fame for their outlandish plans to outwit the Siennese Republic who were determined to catch them and bring them to justice.

Tuscany is filled with beautiful sights to see scattered throughout the memorable countryside. One of the most beautiful areas is located in the Province of Arezzo.

Lucignano is a municipality here located in between Florence and Arezzo, notable for its well-preserved medieval walls. Set on the top of a hill, it was the site of dispute between a range of Tuscan cities between 1200 and 1500, including Siena, Arezzo, Florence, and Perugia.

There are many historical sites to visit within this town, including a bevy of examples of medieval architecture which remain. The best way to appreciate these sights is by exploring on foot.

This week we're off to the Arezzo Countryside to a property called Villa Ulivi & La Casina. This Villa is very difficult to describe as words could not do justice to the fantastic architecture.

It is located just on top of a small hill in the Tuscan Countryside and is just 700mt from the medieval town of Lucignano. It has recently undergone renovation and it is furnished to the classic Tuscan taste while offering every modern comfort.

The “Palio dei Somari” is an event that takes place each year on the Sunday following the 19th of March (Or on the 19th of March itself should it fall on a Sunday). Do you like horseracing? Does your heart pound at the thought of sitting in the grandstand, cheering on your favourite in an electric atmosphere as colours flash past you and the grass is flattened under the hooves of some of the most majestic animals in the world? If so, then take a trip to Torrita di Siena and brace yourselves for an event you will never forget!

If you have heard of the "Palio di Siena" then brace yourselves for this twist on the traditional horse race between the "Contrade".
The Palio dei Somari is a race held for the prize of the "Palio" in which the Saint that inspired it (St.Joseph) is depicted. Every year the Palio can change hands from one district to another, depending on the champion, however, there is one difference between this race and that of Siena. Horses are not used in the race at all. Instead, the people race on donkeys. Yes, you did read that correctly.

Property was everything you could wish for. Pretty, very clean and had everything you would require even insect spray! The views were as depicted in the advert. Owners left us alone but were willing to assist if asked. Villa is surrounded by an Olive grove so is very quiet. Note no washing machine at villa but there are 2 laundromats in nearby Sinalunga, which is a very easy 5 minute drive away. We will rent this villa again on our next trip.
