After passing through the Gherardi family, the property was acquired by the Bolognese de' Bianchi family. Major restorations were initiated in 1898 by Count Filippo Sassoli de' Bianchi to restore its 15th-century appearance, despite significant 18th-century refurbishments, including the still-consecrated Chapel dated 1729. Renata is nicknamed Nonna Renata (Grandmother Renata) because of her age, but also because of the way she makes you feel at home in the villa. She is like a sweet grandmother who makes delicious dishes to make you taste Medici's dishes and ancient Tuscan dishes.

A yoga room is available; there is an additional fee for its use, payable locally.
There is a tennis club within walking distance of the house.
The helpful caretakers live on the estate, in a separate apartment.
