We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at Al Valentino. It has been so wonderful the area is a delight and easy access to other towns of interest in Tuscany. The villa itself was a joy to return to at the end of the day although we often just spent days at the villa enjoying the pool and preparing and eating meals outside on the wonderful veranda. The gardener and housekeeper were lovely and kept everything looking fresh and tidy. Personally I liked waking early to watch the local bird population busy around the eucalyptus tree and the grounds including a couple of hoopoe birds. This villa was perfect for the whole family from our pool loving 7 year old to our sun loving teenagers. I truly hope we can return another year to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere at Al Valentino a true jewel of a villa in the Massarossa area :)

We had a fabulous time at Tegliaia. Our family of 5 was very comfortable in the main floor of this massive villa. Although there was no air conditioning sleeping was fine with windows open and screens on the windows. The view is amazing. We saw deer and hares in the olive groves, and enjoyed the fresh pool on hot summer days.

Overall a great place to have a family holiday plenty of space for young & not so young.
On the down side there needs to be some maintenance and improvements. Couple things such as some sort of cooling in living areas, improvement to wifi access ability and some switches replaced. Information on surrounding restaurants and food requirements and things to see and do would be helpful.

We had a great week in Ca De Tonco and enjoyed the tranquility and beautiful location. The young hosts were a delight to talk to and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Only thing is the dirt road leading to the house - it is not the best and it takes 10 minutes to drive in a normal car. As long at You remember to plan Your shopping it's no problem and we would love to return. Out traveling party was 2 adults and two children (10 and 13 years).

The Vigna San Giuseppe is not only gorgeous, high-quality and tastefully decorated, it is authentic! It was actually the working farm and vineyard of the hostess, Giuditta's grandparents. The bottom floor originally was a stable and the gorgeous guest house was an animal manger! Now it looks like a spa, but it's nice to know its roots are real.
The house has great views from every patio and the valley next to the house is full of bird noise and lovely farm noises. We even saw a family of wild boars every evening grazing in the field next to the house. There is a hiking trail that starts right at the house through forests and the little town at the top of the hill.
Giuditta, the hostess who spent her childhood there, is adorable and sincere and ready to come over at a moment's notice to help with anything. She knows all kinds of people in the area and one night she and two chefs created the most memorable multi-course meal with specialties from the region, including locally produced wine and wild boar hunted by someone she knows! It was delicious and so special, something we will all remember for a long time.
The house has about 8 bikes of all types and sizes and we loved biking down the dirt road into town and tooling around on the cobble stones in the ancient part of subbiano, picking up groceries etc. Walking it's only about 15-20 minutes into town and by the time you get back up to the villa, you'll be ready to jump into the clean and beautifully refreshing pool!
It's convenient to have a car, but we also got around just fine using buses and trains.
Lots to do in the area, great villages, castles and of course Sienna and Florence all within visiting distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed a family holiday at Pozza Di Volpaia.
A walk away from the beautiful small hamlet of Volpaia with 3 relaxing restaurants - excellent food!
The house had 5 large comfortable bedrooms rooms - all with en suite. Living areas and kitchen were very comfortable. Swimming pool was in constant use.
