We stayed at Castello di Montegufoni 4-11 July 2011. Everyone there was amazingly friendly and helpful! The reception folks gave excellent advice and were a great help on where to go, what to see, and how to get there -- they are real experts on the area. They were so very nice our entire stay, and they even loaned us 2 fans for use while we were there. The chef in their restaurant made us really feel like family. He came out to greet the guests every night. My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary there and he really made the celebration dinner special!
About the only complaint I can think of is no air conditioning, and bring bug spray since you'll have to leave the windows open at night.
In all, Montegufoni is beyond beautiful with an incredible location that's central to all of Tuscany! I would DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone!

We stayed at Montegufoni 4 for 5 nights in July and used it as a base to see all of Tuscany. I would say that it was an excellent location close to most of th cities we stayed. We went to Siena, San G., Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Montelpulciano. The location was great to visit all those locales. The people at the castle were friendly and very helpful and the restaurant on site served up great food with a great view. There was even a great restaurant at a small town less than 1.5 km walk from the castle. The rooms were big and comfortable too.
The only main complaint that I had is they make too much noise picking up the garbage too early in the morning and the pool was super chlorinated. (great pool but bring gogles for the kids) [Owner reply - due to the high temperatures during this period the chlorine levels needed to be raised to maintain the water quality. The garbage pickup times are regulated by the town, we have asked them to change the schedule but we have to wait to see if they accept our request.]
As you can see all and all a great place, good value for the money and I would recomend this location to anyone.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes

We loved this villa, inside and out. The colors and textures were exactly what we love about Tuscany and wanted to experience. The furnishings were wonderful and comfortable, too. Marina and Francesco were delightful and friendly, checking up on us periodically to see how the sightseeing day went or if there was anything we needed. They gave good recommendations for places to visit (when we asked) and then the best way to get there. The pool was great for our three kids, to give them something to do when they were tired of sightseeing. We spent a very laid-back three days and wished we had longer for the whole experience. (The directions to the villa were a little bit hard to follow at first, but that was because we didn't yet know how to follow Italian directions and road signs. Once you know that, it's easy!) We would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Our accommodations were as expected - nothing too fancy but everything we needed. The area was great - the views spectacular. The check-in process was hassle-free and all of the people there were very friendly. The food at the restaurant was great. If we have one recommendation for improvement it is regarding the chlorination of the pool. It was a very clean and refreshing pool, however the water smelled very strongly of bleach (i.e. laundry bleach) rather than chlorine or bromine that might be used in a pool. Not a big deal - everything else was sublime!

We spent 3 weeks at Palazzo Rosadi it was a beautiful place very clean the flowers were everywhere. The Rosadi family couldn't do enough for you they were there every day to see if you need anything. His Mom made us beautiful cakes. We done day trips every day some by train and some in the mini van we rented. Over all there are no words to describe how beautiful the place was. Helen Fedeli USA. My sister and I rented this apartment for the week of July 2-9th, 2011. We could not have been more happy with its location, accommodations, owners and overall ambiance. We were greeted by the owner with a basketful of vegetables from his garden and olive oil from their olive grove which we put to great use throughout our stay. His entire family was wonderful. They were often present, but not intrusive and it was their presence that made the stay the much more enjoyable. You really felt a part of the Tuscan life.
The unit itself is actually comprised of two buildings. The kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are housed together in an attachment to the actual farmhouse. There is a magnificent view from the kitchen window! Both my sister and I found the bed too hard for our American tastes, but by the end of the week we had adjusted. The bathroom and shower were a nice size compared to what I had been accustomed to in other Italian rental situations. We had everything we needed as far as kitchen utensils including a moka pot. We also had free use of the laundry and could pick items from the garden, as needed.
The living room is across a stone pathway and is its own separate building. Other reviewers cited this as an inconvenience but completely disagree. It added to the overall charm and we used it nightly. There is a fireplace which we did not need to use. They also have a TV which accesses American channels but a lightening storm had disabled the satellite. It was not fixed until a day or two before we were leaving but we assured our host that this was not an issue as we were not there to watch TV! Off of the living room is a private patio with table and chairs and a small charcoal grill.
If the view from the kitchen was magnificent, the view from the patio and living room was ultra-magnificent! From our yard (which had 2 lounge chars), the patio, living room, and the kitchen you could see the Tuscan hillside in all its beauty. In addition to this, there was a spectacular view of the town of San Gimignano. You could see all the towers and the town of "Medieval Manhattan." Furthermore, there was rosemary, lavender and thyme everywhere. We cut several sprigs and placed them within vases and baskets left for our use. We even used rosemary branches to skewer chicken to grill. All was so lovely.
They had a very fat cat a young dog, Olivia, who were a constant presence, which we absolutely adored. Especially Olivia, who greeted us at our car, every time we pulled in, bringing gifts of sticks or whatever else was at hand. It made my sister miss her dog a bit less.
One evening the owner’s wife had friends over and she brought us over Farro seafood salad for us to enjoy as well.
Overall, I would highly recommend this property to anyone and everyone.

Broccolo presented much better than the pics on the website illustrated. It is located in a very impressive setting. The amenities are good, though aircon is a must during July and August our night were very uncomfortably hot and stifling. Mosquitoes are definitely a deterrent to enjoying the outdoors at night. A lovely holiday overall.

Best family holiday ever.
What a hidden gem Torre Del Cielo is, this house and location are one of the best kept sectrets in Tuscany. From the moment we arrived until our leaving each of the 10 members of my family group marvelled at the landscape with the beautiful rolling hills in the backdrop of the vibrant sun flower. First there is the house itself which exudes Tuscan tradition and more wonderful vistas down the valley. Then there is the most atmospheric tower room with its private roof top balcony which was a winner in my book any day.
The gardens are very large and superbly tended to as were all our needs by Rosado, his father and his staff who have a knack of always being there if you need them yet totally unobtrusive at all other times. The private pool is just that, totally private and unsighted from anywhere else in the surrounding areas and was cleaned daily.
The lay out is also very well thought out with an outdoor gazebo on the lower levels near the house which being ideal for lunch and dinner whilst the gazebo by the pool gave respite for cool drinks during the hot afternoons
Such was the beauty of the area that when we did wrestle ourselves away it was only to take time on occassion to visit a town, cafe or restuarant recommended by Rosado with both local eateriers in Monterchi (3km) living up to their billing very well indeed.
This was not my first trip to Tuscany but it was by a long way my best and I would recommend the Torre Del Cielo to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Tuscany.
Cannot say enough other than to thank Rosado once more for a memorable stay that will take a lot to beat it.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] Beautiful, well maintained villa in a quiet location next to two other houses separated by a hedge. During the stay the private pool and garden are being maintained by the friendly owners, which is a plus. From Castiglione there are many beautiful villages and towns to visit. A car is a must. Recommended for a relaxed (family) vacation without crowds of tourists.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes

The property is in good location although some trafic noise as it is on road, but the back is lovely with the river and river park.
The villa is old and in need of restoration and a much needed 'face lift'.
Lots of stairs to the bedrooms so if you have heavy suitcases - no good!
Close to shops and Bagni Di Lucca is very pretty.
