In the past we have discussed multi-unit villas in our Villa Spotlight, and they can be such wonderful properties that we will be revisiting these large rentals once again. Multi-unit villas can offer the luxury of a larger villa, but in smaller spaces if you are traveling with just a few people in your party. On the other hand, if your party is rather large a multi-unit villa can keep all your guests together in one place without crowding a single house. These advantages, among other things, make them so attractive to certain situations.
The villa we are looking at for the next few days is the amazing and gorgeous Fattoria Della Nave. This property has been in the Della Nave family and has been their summer house for over 200 years.
It was constructed in the eighteenth century and still remains this character despite some renovations over the years. Fattoria Della Nave is made up by nine separate units and lies in Terranuova Bracciolini in the province of Arezzo. The entire property, renting out all nine units, can hold forty-three people very comfortably. The property is roughly 40km to Florence, Cortona and San Gimignano and only 25km from Arezzo, making it a perfect location for visiting many of the 'highlights' of Tuscany.

One of the unique things about Fattoria Della Nave that draws its visitors is the Parco Della Nave, a large garden and small forest park on the property.
The area covers over 32,000 square meters and contains more than 700 trees from 120 different species. Started in the late eighteenth century and continually expanded for a hundred years, the garden is in the English style which prefers a much more natural look rather than an ordered and laid out garden. Gardens during this era prided themselves especially on the large number of different species they could have growing in their garden, collecting species from far and wide.
Obviously Autumn is a spectacular time to visit Fattoria Della Nave, with the forest leaves changing and dropping to the ground. The sequoia tree pictured is one of the gems of the forest, over a century old and 35 meters tall it is a sight to see.

There are some rules for the park, as a treasure like this must be well kept. It is free to any guests of the Fattoria Della Nave and open hours are 9am to sunset. Children under seventeen years of age need to be accompanied by an adult. The is to be no swimming or fishing in the lake, no fires in the forest, no littering or picnicking, no climbing the trees, or any sort of vehicle in the forest. This is a nature preserve and the Della Nave heirs want to keep its beauty in tact. However, leisurely walks and in the forest are definitely encouraged as they do want to share the peaceful and serene forest with their guests. Any nature lover would follow these rules without being prompted I am sure, not wanting to disturb the well kept grounds.
There is swimming to be had on the property, as a large swimming pool is open to the guests. It is kept lit in the early evening and deck chairs, tables and garden umbrellas are scattered around to enjoy the poolside. Outdoors showers are also by the pool with hot and cold water.
