Stroll Along The Terrazza Mascagni In Livorno

Livorno Gazebo Terrazza Mascagni
If you’d like to witness a glorious sunrise or sunset over the Tyrrhenian Sea with your partner, a lovely place to see it would be from the elegant terraced coastal Piazza in the town of Livorno in Tuscany.

This beautiful winding path, with its black and white tiled pavement, striking columned banister and exquisite seats to sit back in and admire the view, is by far one of the finest in the world.
Visiting couples to Livorno town or the surrounding area have a wealth of holiday villas available for rent to them, most of which have breath taking views of the stunning Tuscan coast.

Constructed in 1925, this architectural masterpiece stretches along the coast and ends at the spectacular Terrazza Mascagni. It has a lovely circular tempietto in the middle where strolling couples can often enjoy the delightful music from it. Casual musicians play here during the day and concerts often take place here in the evenings at sunset which certainly enrich that special romantic feeling that flows through this magical place. As you turn from the sea towards the town of Livorno, you can admire a lovely view of its historical buildings, palazzi and beautiful gardens.
Livorno Black and White
If you plan to stay here for a day or two with your partner, an additional excursion here full of romance would be a visit to the island of Capraia, off the coast of Livorno. Situated about twenty six nautical miles from land, this refreshing boat trip takes approximately two and a half hours and is a wonderful opportunity to take some stunning photos of the two of you enjoying the sea air!

You will arrive into a small port where you can see a 15th century majestic castle on the island, surrounded by a tiny village.
Livorno Terrazza Mascagni
This picturesque island was formed over ten million years ago as a result of a violent volcanic eruption and although its activity has been dormant for millennia, the waters here are deliciously warm to bathe in. Anywhere on Capraia Island would be an ideal spot to lay out a delicious picnic lunch for you both to enjoy as you breathe in the fresh salty air and look around this little piece of paradise!

As the island is so small, there are only worn footpaths available to explore it as there are no cars. Its population is very small as most of the land is part of a Nature reserve which includes an old building that was an active prison until 1986.
This island trip, along with a lovely stroll along the coastal path leading to Terrazza Mascagni on the mainland would be a thoroughly enriching experience to add to your dream vacation to Tuscany!
