1) Val d’Orcia – Meander along rolling hills filled with ripening olive groves, vineyards and colourful crops. 2) Crete Senesi – This is an area in Siena province which translates as ‘Senese Clays’ because of the distinctive grey colouring of the soil in this area. Tourists can see this unusual formation most apparently in the land surrounding the Monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Be sure to taste the sublime and rare white truffles that grow here in the welcoming eateries of towns like Buonconvento, Rapolano Terme. The Crete Senesi is part of the splendid Val d’Orcia

3) Equi Terme – High up in the Apuan Alps on the peaks of Pizzo d’Uccello is the Equi Terme caves. These are thermal caves that act as natural saunas.

The volcanic activity under the tectonic plates of this area also heat pools of water here which has become this town's main tourist attraction. Tour around the magnificent formations within the mountain caves here and chill back in a deliciously warm thermal pool with a glass of chilled Prosecco in hand to relax and unwind.

4) Lake Bilancino – Tuscany’s man-made lake, Bilancino was created by filling up part of an ancient geologically formed basin to solve the Florence area’s hydration issue.

Dive into some exhilarating water sports here like canoeing or kitesurfing or lie back on the lovely beaches created on the lake’s shore for tourists. Close to the quaint little town of Barberino, a day trip to Lake Bilancino has all you need for a perfect experience!

5) Val di Chiana – This is a stunning stretch of countryside between Siena and Arezzo and touches upon the beautiful Lake Trasimeno. It neighbours Val d’Orcia and is the breeding ground of the famous Chiana cattle.
