3 Things To Do With The Kids In Florence

View over Florence
Florence is a perfect holiday destination as there is an unbelievable and undeniable wealth of things to see and do. However, for the little ones that might be in your party, the endless parade of museums and churches might become a little tiresome after a while. Why not reward them by pencilling in some activities just for them? We've rounded up just three of the many things kids will love about Florence and these little things are perfect for keeping them engaged and happy. Just find a luxury villa in Florence and then explore away, knowing that everyone is going to have an absolute whale of a time!
Gelato

1. Gelato

Gelato is a great reward for everyone in the group but the kids will be especially delighted. Florence has some of the best ice-cream in the whole world and such a wealth of options and flavours that your little ones will literally be kids in a candy store. Edoardo's in Piazza del Duomo and Grom on Via del Campanile are two of the most famous gelaterie in the city, and the world, and you're sure to find something tasty in either one. Just grab your gelato and wander around the city or to your next destination, enjoying being together and taking the time to really relish where you are.
The carousel in Piazza della Reppublica

2. The Prettiest Carousel

Children love carousels, adults love carousels – who doesn't love carousels? One of the prettiest ones that you'll ever see is an antique beauty in Piazza della Repubblica. A giant carousel with 20 horses and two gilded carriages, it would be worth going merely to appreciate it. However, any kids are definitely going to want to try it out and you'll probably want to give it a whirl for yourself, as well! Made of wood and painted brightly in reds and blues, it has been run by the Picci family for generations and plays jaunty accordion versions of Neapolitan ballads.
Bardini Gardens

3. Explore a Secret Garden

The Giardino Bardini, or Bardini Garden, is a Renaissance garden in Florence which has only been opened to the public in the past few years. It is less well-known than other public gardens a bit of a well-kept secret devoid of crazy crowds of tourists. Though relatively small it is a green, rich gem with beautiful canals, fountains, flowers and sculptures dotting the whole garden and exceptional views. This is just the place to bring kids to explore, get some fresh air and, maybe have a little bit of an adventure!

With these three, simple activities, you can keep everyone in the family happy and enjoy some proper quality time together in Florence.
