We've recently written a lot of posts about shopping and fashion in Tuscany and Florence, in particular, is a great place for those interested in Italian fashion to go shopping. While Milan is more famous for her fashion and one of the main fashion capitals of the world, Florence is also a very important city in Italian fashion and has been ranked in the top 15 fashion capitals of the world. Famous designers like Gucci and Pucci come from and are still headquartered in the city and there are endless great places to go shopping all over.
However, the one downside is that, outside of heading to outlets, prices in Italy aren't particularly cheap and sales are highly regulated by law. You aren't just going to stumble into some bargains, the way you might in other cities. If you want to have that Florentine shopping experience at more affordable prices, you will need to be strategic with planning your trip. Make sure to find a luxury villa in Florence and head during the “saldi”.
“Saldi”, or winter sales (literally just “sales”) start in January in Italy and are the time of year when things get their prices slashed. This is the time to head to Florence for your shopping but be aware that things can be competitive – both in the competition of sales between stores and the battle to get their hands of the best bargains between customers – so you may run into the odd frenzied shopping experience. The best way to take it is at your own paces, in between wandering the beautiful cobbled streets, grabbing coffee, visiting attractions and finding great places to eat.
Beginning on the 5th of January 5th, the first business day before the Epiphany (the 6th of January), the saldi last for 60 days. Make sure you leave room in your suitcase and grab some wonderful pieces from the incredible stores of Florence when they're at their best prices!
Don't forget that we are the best website for Tuscan villas to rent on the market so, if you're planning a holiday to Tuscany, be sure to check out Tuscany-villas.it!
