Gerhard Merz, the famous and celebrated German artist, will be showing in BASE / Progetti per l'arte on Via di San Niccolò until the 9th of June in an exhibition that was designed specifically for the space in which it is housed and reflects on the raison d'être of the artistic gesture.
The Rive Gauche Association, meanwhile, will be presenting the sixth edition of the Firenze FilmCorti Festival, screening independent and experimental films over a broader time frame, from late May to late October, giving you plenty of time to get involved and catch a film.
“Voci Lontane, Voci Sorelle” is a long-standing event that invites well-known writers from all over the world, with Sara Ventroni, the Finnish Hannimari Heino, the Estonian Kätlin Kaldmaa, and the Americans Jennifer Grotz, Karen Kitamura, and Mark Bibbins, among others to share their poetic works from June right through to September.
Finally, on Tuesday the 18th of June at 9:30 pm, in the Teatro del Cielo in Arcetri, the Alkaline Trio will be playing a gig, twenty years after the release of their first album. With their distinctive sound soaked in soul, bebop, blues and mainstream and the extraordinary saxophonist Scott Hamilton accompanying them, it is sure to be an electric gig for music-lovers!
