Launched on the 26th of June and running until the 6th of August 2024, Apriti Cinema is an event that is organised by the Quelli dell'Alfieri association, with programming curated by the cinema department of the Fondazione Sistema Toscana. Part of the Estate Fiorentina 2024 scheme and programme of events that is promoted by the Municipality of Florence, Apriti Cinema was born in 2017 and has continued to delight locals and tourists alike each summer since then.
This year’s event is a collaboration with the Gallerie degli Uffizi and will be held in the monumental and beautiful Cortile degli Uffizi. In addition to different screenings, Apriti Cinema also includes special events, talks, and more with the authors, actors, and makers of all sorts from the world of cinema.
All films shown throughout the duration of the event boast free admission (until all of the seats at the venue are filled), will be in the original language, and will be shown with Italian subtitles.
