Ricavoli is a dream luxury villa in Tuscany, perfect for those who want to get away with the extended family or to get the old gang back together for an unforgettable Italian vacation. Located in a panoramic position overlooking Florence and a small lake, this historic villa has a private pool, lush gardens, stylish Italian interiors, and some serious charm. Sleeping up to 12 guests comfortably in six bedrooms with five bathrooms, with lots of space outdoors and plenty of spacious common areas indoors, you will be able to enjoy quality time together while still having plenty of privacy. So, for a vacation in Tuscany in a peaceful and tranquil spot, in a gorgeous historic property, with easy access to Florence, this gem is hard to beat!

The location is, in fact, a very big draw for many guests and something that previous customers have particularly highlighted. Just 15km away from Florence, you can easily plan day trips into the city to see the incredible and famous attractions on offer from the Uffizi to the Duomo to the endless list of palaces, gardens, museums, galleries, markets, and more. Greve in Chianti is around a 40-minute drive away, and the Chianti wine region, at large, is also readily visited and explored from the villa. So, if you have some wine enthusiasts in your party, you can easily visit wineries and sample the local vintages. Furthermore, golf fans will be happy to note that the renowned Ugolino Golf club is just a 30-minute drive from the house. The nearest motorway exit, meanwhile, is around a 20-minute drive away, making much more of Tuscany and Italy accessible for visits further away.

You may, however, find that you don’t really want to go too far away at all! And we couldn’t blame you. Not only are there plenty of things to enjoy in the immediate vicinity such as the horseback riding school and stables a kilometre away, the lake, walks around the area, and more, but the house and grounds themselves will making leaving not overly appealing. Luckily, to get supplies or pop out for food, you won’t have to venture far as the nearest restaurant is just 2.5km away and the nearest shops are just 6.5km away.

Back at the villa itself, meanwhile, you’ll be able to enjoy the gorgeous salt water pool with its perfectly equipped pool area featuring a changing room, a shower room, lush surrounding greenery, amazing views, and sun loungers set up out in the open and in a shaded pergola. On the veranda at the front of the house, you can enjoy meals al fresco and there are also several other spots on the lawns, terraces, and throughout the garden to sit out, sip coffee or wine, and generally relax on the stunning grounds. A barbecue is also available to complete the outdoor dining experience.

The house is made up of three parts, the oldest of which dates back to the 13th century and was once a stop for pilgrims to rest. Since then, however, the house has very much been restored and decorated with modern touches but also great care to honour tradition. Expect gorgeous exposed-beam ceilings, spacious rooms, exposed-stone details, interesting works of art throughout, a mixture of antique, vintage, and modern furnishings, big old fireplaces, pops of red and blue, and areas that reflect the different eras of building at the property.

On the ground floor of the house, you will find the well-equipped country-style kitchen with a dining table that can seat all twelve potential guests and all of the mod-cons you could need including a fridge-freezer, stove top, oven, toaster, coffee machine, and dishwasher. There are two living rooms on this floor, one with another dining table that can seat everyone as well as an old fireplace with a sofa and two armchairs gathered around it, and another with two sofas, an armchair and a television. This floor also features two games rooms, one with a pool table, and another with table tennis, foosball, and sofas. A bathroom and a service room with a washing machine complete this floor.

Then, on the first floor, there is another living room with a fireplace, two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one bedroom with twin beds and an en suite bathroom, a double bedroom, a bedroom with twin beds, and a bathroom with a bathtub. The final bedroom is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom and is located in an annex that can only be accessed from the garden and not through the main villa.
Another key thing to note about a stay at this villa in Tuscany is its service. Staff are present often to maintain the grounds and to provide the three hours of cleaning five days per booked week that are included in the rental cost. Additional maid services can be requested at an extra fee as well.
