Pergine Valdarno is a hilltop town that comprises of little villages and hamlets that clustered together over the centuries. Monticchiello di Pienza is a quaint little village that makes up a district of the town of Pienza in Siena province. The tiny population of Monticchiello di Pienza amounts to just over two hundred inhabitants yet there is still plenty for tourists to do and see here.

Start off your visit to Monticchiello di Pienza with a walk around the Roman-Gothic style church of Saints Leonard and Christopher which overlooks the castle here. Monticchiello di Pienza is well known for its theatre productions which were created here by a man called Jerzy Grotowski.
