A one bedroom studio apartment, it has an open-plan kitchen and sitting area and an open gallery up a flight of stairs with a bedroom. The sitting area also has a pull-out sofabed making this property perfect for a couple, solo traveller or small family.

This gorgeous 18th century villa is located in the green valley of Mugello, with incredible views over the surrounding area, and is located 42km from Florence and 3km from the lovely town of Vicchio. Volognano, or Castle Volognano, is an incredible historic gem and actual 11th century castle, located 5km from the centre of the charming Tuscan town of Rignano sull'Arno.

3. The Costume Gallery of Florence

Housed in the seventeenth-century wing of Palazzo Pitti, known as the Palazzina della Meridiana, the Costume Gallery was founded in 1983. Through major acquisitions and public and private donations, it has amassed a collection of over 6,000 objects, making it one of the best fashion museums in the whole world. For any serious history or fashion buffs, it is a must but is also filled with so many objects that are simply stunning, anyone could enjoy a visit.
