Very Good 4 /5We would highly recommend the Casa Cipressi, it’s in a beautiful remote setting with lovely views from the entrance over the Tuscan countryside, vineyards and olive groves. We loved spotting deer in the hillside, although vineyard owners aren’t so enthusiastic, as deer nibble and damage the vines!
The large garden is a delight, and lovely to explore, it has a little pond with very noisy frogs which leap into the water when they spot you coming! The pool is well maintained with sun loungers available. There is a nice shady dining area outside the villa where we ate all our meals.
The interior of the villa is rustic but very comfortable. There are fans in all the bedrooms which was essential when temperatures crept up to 40C in June!
The villa is situated in a good position for sightseeing. Make sure to take the train from Certaldo to Firenze as it takes you to the centre of the city. We also enjoyed San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra and Certaldo Alto among others nearby.
