Excellent 5 /5We stayed a week at La Miccia, Casa Di Vignolo's little sister. Pergine has an "off the map" feel. On a hillside in a town where a scan reveals no wireless networks in range!
Waking up in the morning and walking out the door to look out over olive orchards was incredible. The owners are very nice and speak excellent English. The restaurant down the road, Cantine, was incredible, and the staff so friendly. By the end of the first night, they were at our table swapping stories with us.
This is not at all the pandering tourist experience that much of Tuscany has become. This is the real deal, where people welcome you as their guests and treat you with friendly kindness.
The property itself was lovely, with walls all in stone. We spent many wonderful evenings over wine, cheese, and pasta in the kitchen. Premises clean and comfortable.
Only small drawback was a musty cabbage smell in the kitchen that we couldn't isolate. This can be common in Europe, though, so no big deal.
Also it was strange having a hot tub in the living room, but again no big deal. We didn't use the hot tub, as it doesn't work very well. Removing it would be a plus for this property, in my opinion.
We will certainly be back to this lovely place.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes
