Pozzonovo is an old farmhouse divided into 3 comfortable apartments and is the result of the skilful and careful renovation of a stone building. The three units have independent entrances and in the garden their own area equipped with a table, chairs, sun umbrella and barbecue, perfect for enjoying your meals in the open air.
You will find the farmhouse immersed in the Valdichiana countryside and, at the same time, close to the village of Castiglion Fiorentino, which can be easily reached on foot with a walk of about 1.5 km. From the railway station in Castiglion Fiorentino it will be easy to travel by train for day trips to Florence, Rome and other interesting cities in central Italy.
We advise you to immerse yourself in the life of the small village, its shops, bars and restaurants; you will get a glimpse of country life that still harks back to ancient traditions and customs.
The stone walls, wooden and brick ceilings and simple but comfortable furnishings give the apartments a special charm. You will immediately feel at home, welcomed by a warm atmosphere and by Mrs Rita, the owner, who is always ready to assist her guests in times of need.
Together with the owner, you will be able to make use of the large outdoor area, a cool, large 6 x 12 m swimming pool (depth 0.90-1.40 m - open from 01 May to 30 September) located in front of the house, the badminton court, table tennis and bowling green.

Galleria di Brolio is an old stone farmhouse whose origins date back to 1800, located between two of the most important towns of the Valdichiana, Castiglion Fiorentino and Foiano, and which is now part of the owners' farm. You will find the farmhouse just a few kilometres from the two towns and in both, as well as various monuments and sites of artistic interest that are definitely worth a visit, you will have shops, restaurants and all kinds of services. The small historic centres of the villages will be a pleasant destination for your aperitifs or dinners at the restaurant.
The farmhouse takes its name from the Galleria di Brolio, a conduit that is still in operation today and is located on the edge of the olive grove. The conduit is part of the canal built between 1932 and 1940 to improve the flow of water towards the Arno, planned by the engineer Vittorio Fossombroni for the reclamation of the valley at the end of the 18th century.
Galleria di Brolio is situated on the edge of a wood of about 20 hectares of oaks and pines used as a hunting reserve for the repopulation of animals; they live here in the utmost freedom and if you love wildlife you will frequently see hares and pheasants running in the olive grove, the vineyard and even in the house lawn.
On the ground floor there is the apartment where the owners live, as well as a cellar and a shed for the farm's agricultural tools, while the first floor is reserved for you. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable, enriched with local antiques, and blend in perfectly with the old features of the house. Not far away, on the other side of the wood, passes the railway line that connects central Italy with the main cities of the peninsula (Florence, Bologna, Rome, Milan), so it will be easy to move around even without a car.
A few metres from the house, surrounded by silver olive trees, you will find a beautiful swimming pool completely fenced and for your exclusive use (size 11x5 m, depth 1.10-1.40 m - open from 01st May to 30th September), together with a gazebo equipped with garden furniture, which will allow you to shelter from the hot summer sun.
There is also a large pergola supplied with wrought iron furniture for eating outside, equipped with a barbecue and a wood-burning oven, for those evenings when you want to enjoy a pizza or a grill “al fresco”.
The owner, on request, will prepare excellent typical Tuscan dinners and pizzas in the wood-fired oven which, we are told by customers who have stayed at the house, are truly delicious.

In the immediate vicinity of the two residential units and directly in front of the pool area, a paved and shaded surface provides the perfect setting for outdoor dining. The non-heated swimming pool is a true highlight of the property, framed by scenic olive trees and vines and enjoying an open view over the hilly landscape. Reached by climbing five steps and crossing the surrounding lawn, the pool has a rectangular shape measuring 4.5 x 11 m, with a depth that gradually increases from 1.20 m to 1.80 m. The tank is PVC-lined, sanitized with chlorine, and equipped with internal lights, as well as steps running along one of the two short sides. Along the stone-paved edge, a dedicated sunbathing area is furnished with sun beds and umbrellas. A basement accessible via a flight of stairs houses a bathroom with shower and a changing room for the convenience of pool users. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October. The second apartment, also accessed from the ground floor, features a living room, a large fully equipped kitchen with a dining table that can accommodate up to 10 people, 1 bathroom with shower, and a laundry room. On the first floor of this apartment, there are 2 double bedrooms and a second bathroom with shower. The villa is equipped with air conditioning, which is included in the rental price, along with a dishwasher, washing machine, and satellite TV. Heating is available and metered separately. The owner resides approximately 500 meters from the villa, ensuring that guests enjoy full privacy and exclusive use of the entire estate, including the pool, while remaining readily available to assist with any requests. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 9:30. The minimum stay is 1 week, and during high season bookings run from Saturday to Saturday. The grounds of Il Poggerello are a true extension of the villa's refined character, offering expansive lawns planted with grass and framed by the estate's own vineyards and dense woodland. A private cypress-lined avenue leads to the covered parking area and from there to the main house, the annexes, and the swimming pool. Around each residential structure, the beautifully maintained garden is enlivened by multiple seasonal blooms, with dedicated recreational spaces designed for outdoor relaxation. The porch directly in front of the main villa, accessible from the kitchen, is furnished with comfortable seating and a dining table, making it an ideal setting for al fresco meals in the Tuscan countryside. On the first floor, a spacious panoramic veranda is equipped with a gym area featuring a treadmill and a stepper, as well as a play area with a table tennis table. Additional outdoor seating and dining areas are arranged in front of the annexes, sheltered by verandas and porches, perfect for convivial gatherings or quiet moments of private relaxation. The non-heated rectangular swimming pool occupies a private terrace positioned at a lower level than the villa, approximately 30 metres from the house and accessed via 2 gates and a short stone staircase. The pool measures 15 x 7 metres with a depth ranging from a minimum of 1.40 metres to a maximum of 2.5 metres. The tub is covered in PVC with a stone edge and is accessible via a ladder or internal steps on one side. The purification system is hybrid, alternating chlorine with active ions. The surrounding lawn is furnished with a gazebo, deckchairs, and armchairs, while a cold-water shower and a bathroom with shower are also available in the pool area. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

On the first floor, an additional living room and TV room provides a comfortable secondary lounge. On one side of this space, a double bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and a double entrance. On the other side, a corridor leads to a hallway and 2 further bedrooms: a double bedroom with a bed measuring 1.90 metres in width, and a twin bedroom, both served by 2 bathrooms with bathtubs. The first-floor living room opens onto the spacious panoramic veranda. At the far ends of the first floor, 2 ramps lead to the 2 towers, one located near the staircase to the ground floor and the other adjacent to the bedrooms. Each tower houses a double bedroom, one of which features a bed measuring 1.60 metres in width.

Pets are welcome at the property; however, a mandatory extra cleaning fee applies in the event of the presence of animals. Tourist tax may apply where applicable. It is worth noting that photographic documentation of the property is typically carried out in spring, meaning that the colors and blooms of the gardens, lawns, and park may differ from those depicted at the time of arrival.
