You will find the Agriturismo Le Balze in the heart of the Alto Valdarno, at the foot of Pratomagno, and 4 km from the small village of Castelfranco di Sopra. All around is a natural landscape of rare beauty, which will captivate you from the first moment, characterised by the presence of the 'Balze', secular examples of erosion that over the years have formed towers and rocky blades that rise majestically in the valley bottom.
In about 30 minutes by car you will be able to reach Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. City of the ancient Medici family, a heritage not to be missed, with its artistic masterpieces, the colourful marble of the churches and the lofty architecture, the ancient bridges over the Arno river and the majestic noble palaces with their immense gardens adorned with fountains, sculptures, grottoes, staircases and paths.
The villa is divided into three independent flats, in one of which on the ground floor there is a double bedroom with a bathroom suitable for persons with disabilities. The structure was born from the recovery of old farm outbuildings close to the main house where the owners live, who will be, albeit in a discreet manner, a point of reference for all your needs.
The owners, thanks to careful renovation using traditional materials such as wood, terracotta and stone and comfortable furnishings, have ensured that the villa is perfect for spending a comfortable and restful holiday.
Villa Le Balze overlooks on one side a wooden porch, equipped with table and chairs and perfect for your dinners and evenings in company, and the lush garden where you will have a barbecue and a table tennis. On the other side, the house overlooks the swimming pool area (size 6x12 m, depth 1.40 m - open from 10 May to 15 September), which is completely fenced off and for the exclusive use of guests.
At Agriturismo Le Balze you can taste and purchase excellent wine and extra-virgin olive oil, vegetables, fruit, and all the products of the farm. In addition, on the ground floor of the house where the owners live you will find a small restaurant (maximum 25 seats), open both to the public and to guests of the villa. Description
You will discover that the 'Balze' are a landscape of rare beauty, centuries-old examples of erosion that over the years have formed towers and rocky blades that rise majestically in the valley bottom, and that will catapult you into a suggestive, almost magical world.
The Agriturismo Le Balze is located in the heart of the Alto Valdarno, at the foot of Pratomagno, and 4 km from the village of Castelfranco di Sopra. The nearest shops and supermarkets can be found in Montevarchi or San Giovanni Valdarno, about 10 km away. Here, in the small, pretty towns, you can spend an evening out for dinner or organise an aperitif with friends.
The property is divided into three apartments resulting from the restoration of old farm outbuildings close to the main house where the owners live. Traditional materials such as wood, terracotta and stone were used in the renovation carried out to maintain the building's rural and peasant origins. All the apartments overlook a wooden porch on one side, where you will have your own private space equipped with table and chairs to spend the cool summer evenings at dinner or with your family or friends.
In the large, green garden you will have a practical barbecue and a table tennis. The swimming pool in common use is located at the back of the building (size 6x12 m, depth 1.40 m - open from 10 May to 15 September) and is completely fenced. Laundry and ironing facilities in a common room.
At Agriturismo Le Balze you can taste and buy excellent wine and extra-virgin olive oil, vegetables, fruit, and all the farm's products. But certainly one of its highlights is the small restaurant (maximum 25 seats - reservation required) run by the owners and located on the ground floor of their home, open both to the public and to guests of the agriturismo, where you absolutely must, at least for one evening, taste the delicious typical dishes, which are cooked using tasty local products.

The property is completely fenced, offering privacy and security throughout your stay. A furnished portico with a breathtaking view over the surrounding valley serves as the perfect setting for al fresco dining, equipped with a table and chairs for outdoor meals in the open air. The barbecue area is conveniently positioned adjacent to the swimming pool, making it ideal for leisurely summer gatherings. All rooms on the ground floor feature French windows that open directly onto the garden or the fully equipped solarium, where guests can unwind surrounded by lush greenery. The non-heated swimming pool, measuring 10 by 5 metres with a constant depth of 1.4 metres, is lined in PVC and features chlorine purification, internal lighting, and 5 internal steps for easy water access. Reached via 4 steps from the house, the pool area is paved in terracotta and furnished with deck chairs, sunbeds, and umbrellas, as well as a cold-water shower. The vast enclosed park extends over 2 terraced levels in front of the villa entrances on both the ground floor and the first floor, encompassing approximately 6,000 square metres, of which 4,000 are lawn featuring more than 1,300 plants and tall trees. A constant breeze flows through the garden, encouraging guests to unwind in the peaceful surroundings, while the rich vegetation discreetly screens the proximity of the nearby motorway, though in certain climatic conditions a distant sound of traffic may occasionally be heard. Directly adjacent to the villa entrances, a veranda provides a charming setting for outdoor dining, while a comfortable seating area invites guests to linger in the open air. In front of the annex and overlooking the pool, a portico furnished with sofas and tables offers the perfect vantage point for enjoying an aperitif at sunset. The south-facing pool area lies in a panoramic position just a few steps from the annex and approximately 20 metres from the main villa, reached via a paved path bordered by flowering shrubs. The rectangular pool measures 6 by 12 metres with a depth of 1.50 metres and is lined in PVC with salt treatment purification, internal lights, Roman steps, and a ladder for water access. The expansive stone-paved and lawn sunbathing area surrounding the pool is equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs, umbrellas, and tables. Additional facilities in the pool area include a hot and cold-water shower, a small bathroom, and speakers. A covered gazebo with armchairs and a handy fridge completes this outdoor haven. The pool is non-heated and open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October, though heating is available on request from May to October. Please note that photographs of the property were taken in spring, and therefore the flowering and colour of the garden grass may differ at the time of arrival.

Villa Leonardo is a generously proportioned property capable of accommodating up to 36 guests across 15 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, distributed between the main villa and a separate annex located just a few metres away near the pool area. The main villa is arranged over 3 floors and an attic, and its positioning on terraced land allows direct external access from both the ground floor and the first floor. The main entrance on the ground floor opens into a large hallway with a seating area, flanked on 2 sides by 2 dining rooms. Beyond the hallway lies a fully equipped professional kitchen, followed by 2 double bedrooms, both featuring windows without a view and each with an ensuite bathroom with shower. The ground floor is completed by a guest bathroom and a laundry room. The first floor, accessible both via the internal staircase and directly from the outside through an entrance at the rear of the house, hosts 4 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom with joinable beds, all with private bathrooms with shower. Also on this floor is a two-level suite comprising, on the lower level, a spacious living room with direct outside access, and on the upper level, reached by a flight of stairs, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with joinable beds, all sharing a bathroom with shower. An internal staircase leads to the second floor, where 4 double bedrooms are located, each with a private bathroom: 3 with shower and 1 with an ensuite bathtub and shower. The attic comprises a double bedroom with a bathroom with shower, as well as a further double bed situated in a room with a ceiling height of 1.30 metres, which also has its own bathroom with shower. In 4 of the larger rooms, it is possible to add a single bed. The annex, positioned just a few metres from the main villa and close to the pool area, consists of a suite with a seating room, a double bedroom, and a bathroom with shower.

Pagliazzone is a cottage with private and fenced garden and is located in the hills of the Val d'Ambra, dominated by the ancient ruins of the Cennina Castle and immersed in the peace and quiet of the countryside. A short walk will take you to the characteristic village of Bucine. When you feel like leaving the swimming pool and the peace of the garden for a while, the small, typical villages of the Val d'Ambra and Chianti are easy and quick to reach, and Arezzo, Florence and Siena are excellent day trips.
The little house is surrounded by a fully-fenced garden with a well-kept lawn, shaded by tall pines and filled with flowers, where your pets can run freely. A view of the surrounding vineyards and hills will accompany your lazy summer days, along with several corners designed for relaxing in peace. You decide which is the best spot to enjoy the view... whether it is from the cool water of your private swimming pool (5x11 m, depth 1.20-1.80 m - open from 01st May to 30th September), or from an armchair under the pergolas, perhaps from the shady gazebo hidden among the trees, or from a sun lounger by the pool...
