Marina di Campo is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Tuscany and it’s perfectly suited for children to play in as the long clean sandy beach slopes gently down into the water and is quite shallow for a quite a few metres out.

While you’re on Elba Island, why not visit the spectacular aquarium here that house many species of exotic marine life! Or walk around some of the island towns like Portferraio, Marciana, and Cavoli where there’s a fine selection of lovely shops and eateries to explore.

In the afternoon, perhaps it would be fun to book your place on a train ride through the mines of Rio Marina in Porto Azzuro Mine Park where the family can learn all about the booming industry that once existed here!

Back on the mainland, why not enjoy a visit to the thrilling adventure park of Saltabero in Rapolano Terme in Siena province? This fun filled park offer seven challenging acrobatic trails that include high rope bridges, pirate ladders, swinging logs and cable cars. There are two such trails that are perfectly suitable for very young children and there’s a relaxing food court and picnic area for parents who would like a bit of peace and quiet as the expert supervisors here keep a close eye on the kids! Or get your swimming gear on and head to two fabulous water parks in the towns of Cecina and Follonica that are packed full of exciting slides, surfing hills and wave pools! Parents can keep an eye on the kids from relaxing sun loungers set up all over the parks, perhaps while sipping a deliciously cold drink under the hot Tuscan sun!

There’s an excellent theme park based on the famous Italian fairytale ‘Pinocchio’ near the town of Collodi in Pistoia province that would be great fun to go to!
