There are lots of ancient churches and monasteries here, filled with classic, gothic and Renaissance style architecture and precious artworks. Visit the enchanting parish church of San Lorenzo, the town’s patron saint. This church dates back as far as 941AD and its bell tower dates to 1263!

A delicious truffle market is held in Borgo San Lorenzo on the third weekend of November every year so if you’re passing through at this time, be sure to hang around for a few hours.

Walk around the majestic Palazzo Podestà and some of the grand villas that dot the town and outskirts. The famous Florentine Banking family, the Medici’s would have visited here quite frequently during their reign of power. They commissioned many beautiful buildings to be built in their wake.
