maremma coast
Book a glorious holiday in a villa along the Tuscan coast and explore the magnificent area of the Maremma in the deep south. The Maremma is the coastal territory here that stretches from the town of Cecina until the border is reached with Latium.

The northern section of the Maremma is nicknamed ‘Maremma di Mare ‘meaning the Seaside Maremma because of the superb range of thriving seaside towns and beaches that hug the coastline in the Livorno province of Tuscany.

The rugged hills that line the coast here between Massa Marittima and Volterra were full of Iron Ore which helped this area prosper through the centuries. The ancient Roman road leading to France, the Via Aurelia, runs through the Maremma di Mare.

The more inland area of the Maremma envelops a huge area of land called the National Park of Maremma where trees and certain wildlife are protected and scenic trails are open for tourists to explore. Taste the exquisite wines that are produced here in southern Tuscany and savour the delicious dishes made from the pine nuts harvested from the vast pine forests here.
