Florence has a famously beautiful skyline that we have written about and admired many times before. There are plenty of viewing points from which to enjoy views of the city and we have listed these previously but, lately, we've been imagining enjoying said views from rooftop bars. Combining those amazing views with a well-made cocktail or a great glass of wine sounds like a match made in heaven to us! So, if you have found a luxury villa in Florence and want to round off a long day of touristing or want to grab a nice leisurely drink before heading to dinner, then these are the rooftop bars that you should visit in Florence!
1. Empireo Rooftop View American Bar & Pool
Located in the Hotel Plaza Lucchesi, Empireo was opened in 2014 and is a perfect place to take in the sunset while enjoying views over the Duomo. The rooftop terrace with its pool is an oasis that guests at the hotel can enjoy during the day but is open to non-guests with reservations as a bar after 7.30pm. Boasting excellent cocktails and live music, it is an idyllic spot for enjoying the skyline of Florence in style.
2. SE·STO on Arno
Perched on top of the Westin Excelsior, this rooftop bar and restaurant is located right on the Arno River and boasts incredible views over the city of Florence. It is a foodie heaven with the kitchen lead by an up-and-coming chef with a Michelin background. While the restaurant also sounds great, just popping up for a drink and to take in the unique 360-degree view over Florence is more than enough. Plus, there is a great aperitif deal of one drink and buffet access for 25 euro per person or one drink and gourmet dishes that change every week for 30 euro per person.
There are plenty more excellent rooftop bars in Florence but for the rest of our picks, be sure to remember to read on to the next post of some of our favourites in the birthplace of the Renaissance in Tuscany.
