Dating back to the 12th century and restored in the 17th century by the noble family of Acciaioli, the Castle has a magnificent tower built on the model of the one of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Montegufoni Castle is part of a large estate comprising vineyards and olive trees and is surrounded by the beautiful Chianti landscape. In the castle there are 39 apartments and a large garden with a nice swimming pool: the perfect spot to relax and have fun with your family and friends.

Reception open from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30. The outbuildings of the castle as well were restored and turned into charming apartments. The castle is run by the Posarelli family. The outdoor spaces of Villa Leonardo are as impressive as the interior, offering a variety of settings in which to relax, dine, and entertain. The vast enclosed park extends over 2 terraced levels in front of the villa entrances on both the ground floor and the first floor, encompassing approximately 6,000 square metres, of which 4,000 are lawn featuring more than 1,300 plants and tall trees. A constant breeze flows through the garden, encouraging guests to unwind in the peaceful surroundings, while the rich vegetation discreetly screens the proximity of the nearby motorway, though in certain climatic conditions a distant sound of traffic may occasionally be heard. Directly adjacent to the villa entrances, a veranda provides a charming setting for outdoor dining, while a comfortable seating area invites guests to linger in the open air. In front of the annex and overlooking the pool, a portico furnished with sofas and tables offers the perfect vantage point for enjoying an aperitif at sunset. The south-facing pool area lies in a panoramic position just a few steps from the annex and approximately 20 metres from the main villa, reached via a paved path bordered by flowering shrubs. The rectangular pool measures 6 by 12 metres with a depth of 1.50 metres and is lined in PVC with salt treatment purification, internal lights, Roman steps, and a ladder for water access. The expansive stone-paved and lawn sunbathing area surrounding the pool is equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs, umbrellas, and tables. Additional facilities in the pool area include a hot and cold-water shower, a small bathroom, and speakers. A covered gazebo with armchairs and a handy fridge completes this outdoor haven. The pool is non-heated and open from the last Saturday of April until the first Saturday of October, though heating is available on request from May to October. Please note that photographs of the property were taken in spring, and therefore the flowering and colour of the garden grass may differ at the time of arrival.
Unit Layout
Villa Leonardo is a generously proportioned property capable of accommodating up to 36 guests across 15 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, distributed between the main villa and a separate annex located just a few metres away near the pool area. The main villa is arranged over 3 floors and an attic, and its positioning on terraced land allows direct external access from both the ground floor and the first floor. The main entrance on the ground floor opens into a large hallway with a seating area, flanked on 2 sides by 2 dining rooms. Beyond the hallway lies a fully equipped professional kitchen, followed by 2 double bedrooms, both featuring windows without a view and each with an ensuite bathroom with shower. The ground floor is completed by a guest bathroom and a laundry room. The first floor, accessible both via the internal staircase and directly from the outside through an entrance at the rear of the house, hosts 4 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom with joinable beds, all with private bathrooms with shower. Also on this floor is a two-level suite comprising, on the lower level, a spacious living room with direct outside access, and on the upper level, reached by a flight of stairs, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with joinable beds, all sharing a bathroom with shower. An internal staircase leads to the second floor, where 4 double bedrooms are located, each with a private bathroom: 3 with shower and 1 with an ensuite bathtub and shower. The attic comprises a double bedroom with a bathroom with shower, as well as a further double bed situated in a room with a ceiling height of 1.30 metres, which also has its own bathroom with shower. In 4 of the larger rooms, it is possible to add a single bed. The annex, positioned just a few metres from the main villa and close to the pool area, consists of a suite with a seating room, a double bedroom, and a bathroom with shower.

On the first floor of the farmhouse resides the owners, who are not present during the period from May to September. Guests are kindly informed that the photographs of the property were taken in spring, and therefore the flowering of plants and the colour of the garden grass may differ from what is visible in the images at the time of arrival. Pets are welcome at the property. Tourist tax may be applicable depending on current local regulations.

Casa Paggetti is an ancient stone farmhouse located in the village of Pescina, in the Chianti hills, with panoramic views of vineyards, olive groves and woods. Dating back to the 17th century, the house belonged to the Paggetti family, whose coat of arms is still visible on the facade. Restored to respect its historic character, the villa is spread over three floors and retains original elements such as terracotta floors, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and period furniture, with parquet in the bedrooms. The garden, shaded by tall cypress trees, is arranged on terraces and lawns furnished with outdoor dining areas and lounges, as well as an outdoor kitchen with barbecue and wood oven. Flowerpots, vines and cypresses complete the green setting around the house. A stone staircase leads to the second level, with a tiled area where there is a relaxation area, the entrance to the basement and access to the covered garage. On this level there is also the driveway gate, accessible from a small road that runs along the property and leads to the internal car park. The surrounding lawn houses the pool with solarium. Finally, a second staircase leads to the lower level, planted with olive trees and a cherry and fig orchard, bordered by a stone border. Pool:
The pool is located a few meters from the house, on the second level of the garden; it is accessed via a stone staircase or along a path in the lawn. Irregularly shaped, it measures about 12 x 10 m with a depth varying from 1.20 to 1.80 m; it is covered in PVC and bordered with terracotta finishes; access to the water is via a Roman staircase. The pool is equipped with internal lighting and a chlorine purification system. The surrounding solarium area is partly paved with stone and partly with lawn; it is furnished with sun loungers, umbrellas, tables and a lounge area. In this same area there is also an outdoor shower and a 2 x 2.20 m heated hot tub, with three seats. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

The changeover day is Saturday. A minimum stay of 7 nights applies during high season, while a minimum of 3 nights is required during low and mid season. A complete rooming list must be submitted 1 week before arrival. Upon arrival, a pre-authorization of €2,000 is requested as a security deposit for damages. Gas heating is available as an extra service. Please note that external chefs are not permitted on the estate; however, a private chef can be arranged on request, and cooking classes are also available on request through the estate. Social events for more than 22 guests can be organized through the estate's partners, subject to management approval, at an additional cost. Tourist tax is due at check-out. A shopping list service is available, with guests covering the cost of the products. The estate also features a piano, and any eventual extra tuning required is chargeable. The property includes a fully equipped living room in Villa Principale, designed for reading, relaxing, and socializing.
