Originally an old farmhouse, the property has been completely and lovingly renovated by its current owners into a warm and welcoming country retreat that seamlessly blends rustic character with modern comfort. The estate is enveloped by an extraordinary park of approximately 3 hectares, a true botanical garden featuring manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, roses, Mediterranean shrubs, tall trees, an orchard, and a seasonal vegetable garden, offering guests a lush and private yard of remarkable beauty. Connectivity is fully provided through Internet WiFi, allowing you to remain in touch with the world while immersed in the Tuscan countryside. At the end of the driveway, just steps from the main entrance, a covered parking area accommodates up to 3 vehicles, ensuring convenient and secure access throughout your stay.
Outdoors
The outdoor spaces of La Casa dell'Artista are truly exceptional and form the beating heart of the property. Close to the entrances of the house, a dedicated outdoor dining area features a table sheltered by a large umbrella alongside a stone barbecue, perfect for long alfresco meals in the open air. The vast park, extending across approximately 3 hectares, transitions naturally into dense woodland at the rear of the property, directly accessible from the garden and crossed by numerous walking paths where glimpses of hares, porcupines, and roe deer can be enjoyed. The non-heated swimming pool, open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October, is positioned on a terrace at a lower level approximately 15 metres from the house, reached via a short flight of steps and a paved pathway across the lawn. Measuring 6 x 9 metres with a constant depth of 1.50 metres, the pool is lined in PVC, features a wooden edge and a ladder for water access, and is equipped with a chlorine purification system. The surrounding stone-paved sunbathing area is bordered by hedges and furnished with sunbeds and an umbrella. Adjacent to the pool, a wisteria-covered pergola provides a shaded and relaxing retreat with a table and chairs, and a cold-water shower is also available for your convenience. Please note that the property photographs were taken in spring, and therefore the flowering and the colour of the garden grass may differ at the time of your arrival.

Description
In 1996 we moved to the Crete Senesi and we fell in love with this farmhouse Etruscan origins, medieval mill, peace and tranquillity. That’s why we decided to share it with our guests and their four-legged friends.
The farm keeps the whole family busy: Alessandro (biologist, nature guide and Sommelier), Elisa who looks after the administration, Mauro and Paola, retired but full time busy on the farm. And we hope that in the future even Emma and Guido will give us a helping hand.
We produce vegetables and fruit, olive oil and truffles from organic agriculture.
For our guests we organize a rich programme of initiatives discovering the colours and flavours of the Crete, wine tasting in our cosy winery and excursions by bike guided by Alessandro who is fond of cycling.

Podere Capanne is a portion of an old farmhouse set in the hills overlooking the charming medieval village of Rigomagno and much of the wide Chiana Valley. You will find the house in a landscape covered mostly by olive trees, interrupted here and there by small vineyards and lush oak woods. Ancient farmhouses, always in privileged positions, emerge from the vegetation, completing a natural landscape of rare beauty. A delight for your eyes, an enchanting place for your holidays.
You will find the house on the edge of a large olive grove of about 3 hectares, tended like a meadow that, from the top of the hill, with a harmonious succession of natural terraces, slowly slopes down towards a wooded gully.
A few steps from the house and immersed among the olive trees is the completely fenced swimming pool for your exclusive use (size 5x10 m - depth 1.10-1.50 m - open from 01st May to 30th September), a green oasis for your summer days. In front of the house you will have a large fenced-in courtyard equipped with a table and chairs on the nice porch, where you can enjoy grills and good local wine. Deck chairs, sun loungers, table tennis table, barbecue, 2 bicycles and shaded parking space are also available. Your pets are welcome at Podere Capanne.
Podere Capanne is an old residence that has retained the characteristics and atmosphere of times gone by. It is well furnished and equipped, and we are confident that you will spend a comfortable holiday in a warm and welcoming environment. The house is located just a few kilometres from Siena and Arezzo, and we certainly recommend a visit to both.
