The magnificent Piazza Grande is host to the event, with the jousting going on in the center of the large square. The town is covered during the festival with vendors and things happening across the city. Much of the town dresses in medieval costumes, to further enhance the submersion into the event. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement as the jousters charge in armor astride their powerful horses at the target, each pass ending with a resounding clang as the lance hits its mark.
The event is held twice a year, once in June and once in September. If you are planning on attending the event, make sure to make your reservations early and look into our many villas in Arezzo.
