Sugo Di Carne

Marina's own recipe for meat sauce. This will make enough sauce for roughly four people.

Ingredients:

  • Beef cutlets 200 gr

  • Ripe (canned) plum tomatoes 500 gr

  • 1 onion

  • 1 carrot

  • 1 stalk celery

  • 1 glass of red wine

  • parsley

  • Extra virgin olive oil

  • Salt and pepper

Preperation:

  1. Chop the onion, carrot and celery on a board and place in a casserole with 6 spoonfuls of oil. Sauté uncovered over a very low heat for about half an hour..

  2. Add the beef and the red wine and sauté for 20 minutes, then remove chop finely and return to the pan toghether with the tomatoes and parsley.

  3. Sal and pepper, cover and continue cooking over a low heat for about one hour.
