Chianti Cashmere Goat Farm is a small, private farm located halfway between Florence and Siena, just outside of a town called Radda in the Chianti region of Tuscany. The origins of the farm date back to 1972, when Nora Kravis left Long Island, New York and made her way to Italy, where she bought an old Tuscan farmhouse and set about building a new life. A tiny, dilapidated stone farmhouse nestled into the side of the Volpaia valley with an incredible view across endless rolling hills, vineyards, pastures, olive trees and woods.

Having already studied Fine Arts but with a passion for all things four-legged, she then decided to study Veterinary Medicine at the Università di Pisa and began buying animals to live on her farm. The first two goats that were bought then became a herd. This herd of genetically superior Cashmere Goats produce the raw material used to create a range of exclusive, hand-woven Italian Cashmere accessories, home textiles and our own yarn. Famous nationally and in other countries of the EEC the farm has become a model for small-scale agricultural enterprise. Sustainable, ethical and quality practices and products are the result of all of Kravis' results.
