Casa Farfalla is already a luxury villa in Tuscany that we love to recommend and to share as it boasts incredible views from its panoramic location over the surrounding rolling green hills of the Tuscan countryside and the famous town of Lucca as well as incredibly chic and sleek modern interiors. For those who care about design and love art, it is a perfect place to stay but it has also contributed to, and inspired, the world of design in its own right…

Inspired by the shutters of the villa, the owners (artists, architects, and interior designers Michel and Donia Boucquillon) were invited by the beloved and well-known coffee and homeware brand ALESSI to create a collection for the company based on this striking design.

Our luxury villas in Tuscany are so defined by having certain attributes – a beautiful house with impressive grounds, excellent amenities, and great views and/or an amazing setting. There are variations, of course, but these are the basic ingredients and elements that Podere D’Asso has in spades! Set in the rolling green hills of Tuscany, among cypresses, olive groves, and vineyards, this gem of a property is in the most pastoral spot and is perfect for those who are looking to leave daily life far behind and well and truly get away from it all.

Spring blooms always add colour and even more beauty to already famously lovely and scenic destinations and this is very much the case for the birthplace of the Renaissance, as you will discover if you book a villa in Florence!

While there are several famous gardens in the city that bloom at different times throughout the year – the Iris Garden, the Rose Garden, and others – the incredible tunnels of wisteria that adorn the Bardini Gardens each April are a particularly noteworthy example.

Tuscany is famous for several different craft traditions which continue to this day to a lesser or greater degree. There is gold-smithing of Arezzo, the leather-working of Mugello, the glass-blowing of Empoli, and the transforming of the marble of Volterra into all sorts of wonderful things, to name but a few. One of the most quietly impressive traditions of craft in all of Tuscany, however, has to be Montalbano’s history of truly extraordinary embroidery. For those who book a villa with pool in Lucca or a luxury villa in Florence and are planning day-trips in the area, the beautiful locality of Montalbano, in the province of Pistoia is worth visiting for its exceptional looks alone but is also a place where lovely things have also been made.
